How do I know if I have a Heated Windshield?

The easiest way to tell is to look at the bottom of the windshield where your wipers sit. You will see small wires within the glass, much like those seen on rear defrosters, these wires could be hidden, but if they're there then your windshield is heated.

What is a Solar Cool Windshield?

What is the Safe Drive Away Time?

The safe drive away time is the time it takes for the Urethane to get its initial set and depends on the type of urethane used. In order to ensure the windshield is safe and secure, our technicians recommend waiting to drive the vehicle for at least one hour after service is completed. We will advise you if any additional time is required after the windshield is set.

How long do you have to wait to wash your car after getting your windshield replaced?

We ask that you wait 24 hours after your windshield is replaced before going through a car wash. The chemicals and water pressure may affect the installation. Regular precipitation, such as rain, will not affect the sealant or cure time. In fact, water can speed the cure process.

What is a Laminated Windshield?

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), between its two or more layers of glass.

What is a third visor on a windshield?

It is designed to keep the sun out of your eyes while in the awkward space in the top middle of your windshield between your fold down visors. This is where it gets the name of “Third Visor”. It is also often incorrectly referred to as the “third visor band” resulting from confusion with a “shade band.”

What is a Shade Band on the Windshield?

A windshield shade band is a strip of tinting, often blue, green or gray in color, applied to the top of your windshield where it meets the roof line.
